SENTINEL

Staying alive is a dangerous business for twin brothers Aidan and Kaelin. From an early age, their mother warned them their estranged father, Nathanial, a mercenary at the head of Sentinel Security Services, would someday come after them. She secreted them in a small mountain town and trained them to defend themselves. Not until they got to college did they realize most kids don’t learn five ways to kill a man by the age of fourteen. In the relatively normal environment of Cambridge University, it was easy to chalk it up to paranoia - until their mother disappears.

Certain she was taken as bait to lead them to their father, the twins approach Nathanial with a ransom. He didn't take her, but knows who did--a demon who has taken possession of her body in order to get at the top echelon of Sentinel. When the demon kills Nathanial to start a war, Aidan and Kaelin must fight an enemy who wears their mother's face.

HINTERLAND

When an MI6 operative chases his wife’s killer into a war-torn world, he must embrace a legacy of murder and magic to avenge his wife and achieve peace.

Sean Kelly’s father tormented him with frightening tales of an archaic world called Hinterland, in which magic is a weapon and necromantic priests inflict an army of evil souls upon the innocent. As an adult - and a judicious MI6 operative - Sean attributes it to an early form of torture from an abusive father. But, when Sean’s wife is murdered, all the clues lead him straight into the horror stories from his youth.

I am an editor for Electric Spec, an ezine featuring speculative fiction. My short fiction has appeared in Spinetingler. Last year, I earned an Honorable Mention in the Writers of the Future contest, and a Denver 48 Hour Film Project Award.

I earned my Bachelors in Education with a minor in English from the University of Kansas, and I took fiction writing courses there, as well as more recently at Colorado University and Lighthouse Writers Workshop.

My professional/educational organizations are Lighthouse Writer’s Workshop, the Boulder Area Speculative Fiction Writers Group, and Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers, where I serve on the board. I've presented at Colorado Gold Conference and Mile Hi Convention, as well as handled publicity for our magazine at Worldcon in 2008. I was a professional artist and interior designer before turning back to writing full-time, so I have a good understanding of the balance between creativity and commerce.
