Elizabeth Evans joined the Jean V. Naggar Agency in January, 2010. Previously, she worked for six years with Kimberley Cameron & Associates (formerly the Reece Halsey Agency). Elizabeth specializes in nonfiction, including memoir, current affairs, pop culture, relationships, journalism, history and popular science. She also represents select titles in young adult novels.
Elizabeth enjoys working closely with her authors to fine-tune their proposals and manuscripts. She especially loves launching new authors’ careers. She is always on the lookout for stories of adventure, and books that aspire to foster knowledge and understanding. Recent favorite reads, and books in the vein of what she would like to represent, include Alexandra Fuller’s Don’t Lets Go To The Dogs Tonight, Bill Bryson’s In A Sunburned Country, Greg Mortensen’s Three Cups of Tea, and Eric Weiner’s The Geography of Bliss.
Elizabeth graduated from Hamilton College and received an MFA from the University of San Francisco.
She is actively seeking:
Lively, fun nonfiction that feels edgy and current. Quirky projects that illuminate unique perspectives. Strong pop culture or pop reference titles with a playful attitude.
Serious nonfiction with a rigorous intellectual drive. Authors who are experts in their fields. Award-winning journalists, academics, speakers, notable scientists. Books that ask big questions.
Sophisticated YA novels with the potential to cross over and attract an adult audience. No paranormal or fantasy elements please.
She does not represent mainstream fiction, children's books, essay anthologies, poetry, short fiction or screenplays.
