Delacorte Books for Young Readers, August 2008
A staple of the publishing industry for over 30 years, the Jane Rotrosen Agency is best known for its work with authors of commercial fiction and for its hands-on approach to representation.
I joined the Jane Rotrosen Agency as an over-eager assistant in 2003. Having since ascended to the ranks of agent, I've been tending a growing list of clients, including authors of fiction and nonfiction.
An avid reader of women’s fiction (or what people describe as “literary light”), I especially love novels featuring Southern settings, multi-cultural characters, animals, coming-of-middle-age plot lines, meltdowns, or anything that will make me cry. As a reader I'm most engaged when I'm learning something as I'm being entertained, and so I enjoy hearing from authors for whom research is a must. I tend to consider a few select nonfiction projects that read like fiction, especially memoirs about experimenting with one’s life.
