An excerpt from The Unbreakable Child.
"Sister Charlie died the week I turned seven. Hate killed her, or so I’d heard. Whether it was hers or my own, I wasn’t quite sure.
For three days the nuns herded us into the Chapel to visit her body. And for two hours on each of those days, I knelt before dead Sister Charlie and worried about Hell.
Hers and mine." ©

The Unbreakable Child, a story about forgiving the unforgivable.
Kim Michele Richardson's ground breaking memoir about growing up during the 60’s in a Roman Catholic orphanage run by nuns and a priest in rural surroundings, interweaves present day with past, where Kim as well as others suffered brutal childhood abuses, involving several nuns and a priest, all of which finally came to light in 2004 through a nationally recognized lawsuit; initiated by a man of courage, attorney William McMurry, who stepped forward and championed for justice, and in which Kim and forty-four former orphans (including her sisters) would become the first in United States history to receive monetary settlement from a Roman Catholic order of nuns, arising out of decades of institutional abuse.
The Unbreakable Child reveals past lies coming to surface, exposes the Roman Catholic Church's clergy; those who cloaked Evil with His veil to mask their evil deeds and shows how the buried past can return to heal the present, both triumphant and frightening.
An inspiring story of a girl who would not be broken.
The Unbreakable Child is a story that has yet to be told anywhere in the country.
A percentage of all sales have been designated to child and awareness advocate groups.

AP news Update:
*Appeals court lets Vatican sex abuse case proceed*
November 24, 2008
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — A federal appeals court has ruled that part a class-action sex abuse lawsuit against the Vatican can proceed.
The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati said on Monday that three men may pursue their claim that top church officials should have warned the public or local authorities of known or suspected sexual abuse of children by priests in the Archdiocese of Louisville.
The ruling upholds a similar decision by U.S. District Judge John Heyburn II of Louisville in May 2007.
The ruling also upholds Heyburn’s decision to dismiss claims that the Holy See was negligent in failing to provide safe care to the children entrusted to the clergy.
